Mr Richard Huggins

Richard Huggins completed his Medical degree through Monash University

obtaining first class honours along with Dentistry at the University of

Queensland. He also completed additional tertiary degrees in Science and

Anatomy through Monash University and the University of Melbourne. Dr

Huggins completed advanced surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial

Surgery in Victoria, rotating throughout the major teaching hospitals.

Upon completion of his surgical training, he then undertook a 2-year fulltime

subspeciality fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of the face. This was

competed under his long-term mentor Dr Bryan C. Mendelson widely

regarded as one of the key pioneering and internationally renowned

aesthetic plastic surgeons.

This provided extensive and comprehensive training in facelift, brow and

temporal lift, blepharoplasty along with fat grafting and augmentation of the

facial bones.

​

Dr Huggins has presented at multiple international conferences in the area

of facial aesthetics and facial aging and continues research and publications

in this field. He is a clinical demonstrator and presenter for the MAFAC facial

surgery and anatomy course, teaching the current techniques and applied

anatomy for facial rejuvenation procedures to graduate surgeons. He has a

particular interest in soft tissue and bony correction of facial aesthetics and

the applied surgical techniques.

He has private practices in both Toorak and Bendigo and holds public

consultant positions at the Austin Hospital and Western Health.
